Every TaG Fellow receives a full scholarship for a public post-secondary education
We pair TaG Fellows with mentors to guide them through their years on the program
This program is targeted towards exceptional girls in financial need finishing secondary education and looking to begin post-secondary education.
Annually, “TaG fellows” within the fellowship will receive full tuition plus accommodation sponsorship at a public Nigerian university. About 800 USD annually will put one TaG fellow through the program.
'Exceptional' includes excellence in education and participation in community development.
Each applicant must submit Senior Secondary Certificate results, an essay, and a reference letter that will be reviewed by a selection committee. This essay and the reference letter should include details of the applicant’s contribution to their community. Financial need will be determined on an individual basis through analysis with the Secondary school and referrer. Other information may be requested.
We will be partnering with several NGOs that sponsor exceptional girls through secondary school to submit a pool of candidates. We will also be partnering with two Secondary schools in Kaduna – Capital and Federal Government College – to submit a pool of candidates through an internal competition. All candidates received from these referrals must submit an application and be reviewed by the selection committee.

Each participant will be connected with a mentor, who is a working professional, to guide them through their years on the program. Mentor relationships change each year to allow TaG fellows develop many mentor relationships.
A new mentor will be assigned to each TaG fellow each year. Mentor-mentee pairings will be done through detailed assessments by the Mentorship Committee, and these pairings will take the following into account: location, industry, gender preferences, and availability.
Mentors and TaG fellows will complete assessments every quarter based on specific assignments they are required to perform together. If a mentor or TaG fellow does not fulfill their requirements within the program in two consecutive quarters, his/her TaG eligibility will be re-assessed by the selection committee.
